“Mother’s Choice” talks about a boy named Ade Junior who at eleven and a half years of age because of his mother Mrs. Frances Ogidi anxiousness for her son to have good quality education, pride, and against the wish of her husband Mr. Ade Ogidi Snr. sent their only son to a boarding house grammar School in England for his GCE O Levels Certificate.

The book tells us of how Mrs. Frances Ogidi reflected the abundant wealth of her husband by her expensive dresses, ornaments, jewelry, and her shoes, handbags were usually to match and were always bought from exclusive shops and boutiques in Europe.

The mother brought up the idea to allow the boy to study abroad for his O level education but was kicked against by her husband saying he was too young to travel over there and leave alone but she was able to convince her husband on accepting the idea saying Junior was there the only son and needed the best of education because he will be taking after him when he is no more in his businesses.
